This month, Miss Ohlala talks about a trash-bag moment, a mesmerising creation, a surprise in the fashion world and a brand-inspired café.

Chinese actress Zhang Jingyi appeared at a red-carpet event carrying a yellow trash bag which was immediately (mis)identified as belonging to the fashion house Balenciaga. However, it was just a confusion – we can’t blame the reports, though, it could’ve easily been an item from the controversial brand. The yellow plastic bag was actually linked to her character in her film The One.

Schiaparelli is well-known for its unique and sculpted creations. This time, the brand took very realistic cat-head heels to the catwalk. Designed by Daniel Roseberry, the shoes feature hand-sculpted cat faces with intricate details, including fangs, textured fur and whiskers. This example of surrealist fashion is not made from real animals but crafted from resin, foam, felt and faux fur. A piece of art!

A big surprise (leaving many fashion enthusiasts a bit shocked) was the announcement of John Galliano’s two-year partnership with high-street label Zara. The designer will re-author Zara’s archives, deconstructing past-season garments into new semi-couture collections with the first drop scheduled for September 2026. We can’t wait to see how this collaboration will unfold – haters will hate, and lovers will love.
