Polène, the Parisian leather goods brand, has created a limited edition of its signature Béri bag as an artisanal leather trompe-l’œil dedicated to the poetry of nature and movement.
The original structure of four leather panels laid out in a bow shape with a subtle central clasp is preserved, but the new edition is adorned with a playful cascade of complex and detailed leaves created from upcycled leather offcuts which have been embroidered and meticulously hand-sewn around the bag by the leather-working artisans. The leather leaves unfurl along a fluttering train, offering an airy lightness to each movement. The embroidery, bold and precise, is in harmony with nature itself, allowing the quality of the material and the finesse of leather-working excellence to shine.
A new piece joining the Plèi collection, Béri Lif embodies Polène’s commitment to upcycling its waste, with the entirety of the leather in this bag being shaped from offcuts by the artisans in the workshops in Ubrique. From the outset, Polène’s mastery of material led to its archiving its offcuts in order to bring them back to life as unique pieces, a testament to excellence inspired by couture.
