Clinical and holistic therapy are two trends in luxury travel.

Wellness travel is evolving beyond classic spas and group hikes. Today’s travelers are increasingly looking for experiences that deliver measurable benefits such as improved sleep, reduced stress and sharper mental clarity. According to a report from International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), Altiant and Hyatt, a striking 84% of affluent travelers now expect wellness services tailored to their unique health goals, and nearly 70% book treatments on the spot during trips, showing wellness has become a central factor in luxury travel decision‑making.
“There are two different trends in luxury wellness right now, and they are not the same thing at all,” says Daria Guristrimba, founder and CEO of Globe7, a London-based ultra-luxury travel advisory working with HNWI clients worldwide. “The first is clinical. La Prairie, Lanserhof, Zem Altea, Chenot. You arrive, they run full biomarker screening, and build a program around the results. It is basically a private hospital with better interiors. As an example, La Prairie has used a patented cellular extract, CLP, in its Revitalisation program since 1931. They are also offering autologous stem cell therapy, where cells are taken from the patient’s own body and reinjected.”

She adds, “The second is holistic. Six Senses Vana, Tulah, and Atmantan with Tibetan medicine, Ayurvedic diagnostics, energy mapping and Chinese medicine. And then there are hybrid formats like SHA, which combine clinical medicine with Eastern practices, including macrobiotic nutrition. What both worlds share right now is an obsession with sleep. It is the number one request across our client base. Zem Altea built an entire program around it: neuroscanning, EEG, neuro-yoga, IV laser therapy. The whole stay is structured around getting you to sleep properly.”
